Near to Locanda delle Donne Monache there are three ancient pathways to the Chiesa della Madonna della Neve through the Carpini Forest, the Christ statue (following the ancient itinerary of the ritual procession of St. Biagio) and the Chiesa della Madonna della Pietà.
The surrounding region (Lagonegrese and Valle del Noce) is characterised by marine and mountain landscapes. It is possible to walk from the top of the mountains towards the coast to find the springs of the Agri and Noce rivers. A little further is the Pollino National Park with an abundance of wildlife.
Rafting and Canyoning
Enjoy rafting and canyoning along the Lao River inside the Pollino National Park, one of the most preserved rivers of southern Italy.
The coastal zone known as Cersuta in Maratea offers some stunning marine landscapes consisting of calcareous rocks with caves and walls colonized by Mediterranean animal and floral species.
It is possible to fly with the Italian Federation of Paragliding or take courses to learn the basics of flying.
The tourist complex of Monte Sirino is only 30 minutes from La Locanda delle Donne Monache. Offering a skiing resort of Lago Laudemio and Conserva di Lauria, around the lake Laudemio, the southern Italian glacial lake, it is possible to practise Nordic skiing and alpine skiing.
Various riding centres offer lessons or excursions within the region.
