"Maratea is fab and old mountain town with winding streets and plazzias. The hotel is fantastic the service was very very good. It has a wonderful bar and restuarant area by the pool that over looks the old town and down into the valley. The terrace is brilliant. Our room was lovely and had a small balcony overlooking the town. Our welcome was so warm and the staff soooo loveley nothing was too much for them. Totally recommend this hotel and the food was michelin star!"

We stayed for 2 nights during June. The room was excellent and the staff were very helpful.
Their parking is free, which is very useful in Italy. We had great views of the town from the room and the breakfast was also very good. The evening meal seemed to be pricey but is supposed to be of very good quality.
Maratea itself is a nice small town, with a statue of Christ the Redeemer on then hill above. Its a must see. Similarly the coast and the inland valleys are worth visiting. We had a great stay.

We had a wonderful five days here enjoying the superb views, the peace and quiet and the excellent food, as well as lazing by the pool. The staff were exceptionally helpful and we loved the area. Would definitely come again.

"The staff at the Locanda della donne Monache were warm, friendly and always helpful. The location is stunning... Way more beautiful then I had anticipated. We were on our honeymoon and the welcome we received was personal and very special... Our room was upgraded ( I think!) and the hotel had a wonderful restaurant, amazing pool, cute library and transport to a stunning private beach all provided".

“As good as it gets...”
We stayed in this hotel for one night and from start to finish all was amazing.
The hotel is an old monastery built overlooking the town of Maratea so it offers great views from rooms that we imagined had to be the rooms where monks stayed...but brought to 4 star modern standards!
The pool is nice and pleasant to relax after a day or walking around.
The restaurant was great we had a very nice meal and as we had decided to share the antipasti and the pasta the chef gave us each a plate with half portions which we thought was really nice. Wine from the local region was very strong.
Breakfast was one of the best in Italy with a wide selection.
We thought that the people running the hotel where very nice and looked after us well from greeting us with a drink on arrival to showing us the route to our next destination the next day.

"“Absolutely amazing everything”
I can't say enough about this hotel and would stay here again in an instant. Upon arrival, the very friendly staff greeted us with a non-alcoholic aperitif…cool and refreshing after a long drive. The road leading up to the hotel is a tight fit and I overshot the place initially. Unable to turn around, I left the car a good ways up the hill. The staff understood my dilemma and dispatched one of the bellhops to park my car in the hotel's private parking lot. The manager gave us a personal tour of the facility to include the history of the structure, meal times, pool hours, etc. There was even a personalized letter in the room inviting us to a have a wonderful stay. Wi-Fi worked well in the room. It worked out rather conveniently that the restaurant in the hotel is top rated by TripAdvisor. The rating is well deserved…from the service to the food as well as the ambiance. The hotel has a nice, little pool along with beach chairs to layout and soak up the sun.
One of the nicest amenities the hotel offers aside from free breakfast is a card good for a free spot at La Secca beach which included one umbrella and two beach chairs….an absolutely amazing spot to relax, swim, snorkel, eat, read and recover. This was approximately a 25 euro per person savings. This hotel has an inviting and relaxing atmosphere and has been beautifully renovated from the 18th century convent it once was. The rooms were of sufficient size and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable and the air conditioning worked well".
